The “Democracy Workshop” program is one of the main civic education pillars of the Parliament of Albania. This program is based on the model established by the Austrian Parliament, and is organized at the Parliament of Albania since 1 March 2023.

The workshop activity enables students between 8 and 14 years of age to learn about the following using informal learning methods:

• The democratic political system in society
• The role and functions of Parliament
• The importance of citizen activism
• The role of the media
• The values, rights and obligations related to European Union integration

In the workshop, students research and discuss on the abovementioned topics, interview members of parliament and create photographic stories.

The Democracy Workshop is organized at the Parliament of Albania three times a week between 09:00 hrs. and 13:00 hrs. As a conclusion to the sessions led by 4 qualified trainers, participants produce a newspaper.
